My research spans urban building energy modeling (UBEM), UAV-based urban 3D reconstruction, and large-scale building information acquisition, with an emphasis on connecting remote sensing, computer vision, and physics-based simulation.

Research

I develop data-driven methods for understanding buildings at urban scale, from reconstructing accurate 3D geometry with UAV imagery to translating building information into energy models and decision-support tools.

This work develops a UBEM framework that integrates satellite-derived roof reflectance to evaluate the energy-saving potential and economic viability of cool-roof retrofits across Xiamen.

CityEL (City Energy Lab) is a web-based platform for urban building energy efficiency. Unlike traditional UBEM tools, it focuses on rapid modeling and neighborhood-scale analysis, using GIS and AutoBPS to streamline energy benchmarking, retrofit evaluation, and cost analysis.

This work integrates multi-source open data to model 609,000 building footprints in Shanghai. Machine learning classifies 63 building prototypes with 95% accuracy and supports city-scale energy simulation.

This work models cabin evacuation with cellular automata and quantifies the effects of luggage retrieval and overtaking. The results highlight the value of effective crew guidance for evacuation safety.
